Nem member: Professor John P. Ulhøi

John Parm UlhøiWe welcome our new professor John Ulhøi at Center for Digital Urban Living. Dr Ulhøi is professor of Organization and Management Theory at Aarhus School of Business (ASB), Director of Centre for Organizational Renewal and Evolution (CORE) and the Inter-university Doctoral programme in Organization and Management Education (DOME), which has offered about 15 doctoral 5 days-courses a year for a number of years. He is currently working on the part of the DUL-project, that is concerned with innovation management and barriers towards business model adaptations, i.e. research on the commercial aspects of new ICT and new market and/or social developments. In recent years his research has addressed open innovation, collaborative forms of high tech ventures, new business models associated with m-commerce (commercialization of mobile technologies) and business model dynamics in the emerging field of satellite-based positioning technology.

Over the years his expertise has been used by a variety of international scientific boards in journals, scientific associations and research sponsoring institutions. He has recently for example served as scientific advisor for DG Research, European Commission, European Science Foundation, The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research;  The Israel Science Foundation; The Swedish Formas Science Foundation; The Norwegian Science Council. Professor Ulhøi’s research has appeared in journals such as for example Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship, Theory and Practice, Journal of Organizational Behavior, International Journal of Technology Management, European Journal of Innovation Management, Creativity and Innovation to mention some of relevance to the research associated with the DUL-project. His has received a number of awards for his research papers, most recently The Best Papers’ Proceedings of the 2010 Academy of Management Meeting Award (2010).
