Computers, networks, digitization has occupied art since the middle of the twentieth century and has led to new art and cultural forms, that often crosses traditional borders and genres and explores new media and spaces. IT is not only engineering and the digital revolution is far from only technical but increasingly also a cultural evolution into new forms, expressions, experiences, ways of living.
Digital Aesthetics Research Centre was established in 2002 as an interdisciplinary centre for research into the role of art and aesthetics in IT.
From 2004-2007 the centre hosted the research project, "The Aesthetics of Interface Culture", and now we continue this with our participation in Digital Urban Living.
