Aarhus by Light is a groundbreaking experiment in media facades. As part of the media facades project, Concert Hall Aarhus, one of the largest in Europe, presents a new interactive media facade that invites guests and passers-by to encounter and partake in a new dimension of the renowned cultural institution. Luminous creatures live in the facade. As you approach, you enter their world which is itself part of the city. Colorscan is an interactive lighting installation installed in one of the main entry gates to the Skanderborg music festival. A camera is fixed in the gate and scans for and tracks vivid colors , such as a bright red rain-coat, in the entry area and the entire entry gate is then lit up in the selected color. A projector marks and follows the tracked target with a large X so that the audience can follow the scan and start playing and interacting to control the lighting of the gate.

DinBy.dk is a new type of network of websites that mix everyday local community and cultural life with online journalism and citizen information. Behind this initiative is one of the big private partners in the Center for Digital Urban Living, Berlingske Media (owned by Mecom) which operates and owns the local news organizations Århus Stiftstidende and Midtjyske Medier. As part of the DUL research group Civic Communication, the people behind DinBy.dk work with researchers from Department of Information and Media Studies at Aarhus University and the Danish School of Media and Journalism.
