New member: Anna B. Holm
Anna B. Holm is a Research Associate at the Centre for Organizational Renewal and Evolution (CORE) at the Aarhus School of Business, Aarhus University. She has recently completed full-time PhD studies in organization and management theory at CORE, and joined DUL as a post-doc researcher.
Anna holds an MBA (1995) from the University of Bradford, School of Management, UK, and a master’s degree in international business (1993) from the State University of Management, Russia. Before joining CORE in 2007, she worked for some years in marketing and purchasing, and for more than 8 years as a consultant in Denmark, dealing with development consultancy assignments and project management.

Anna has for years been fascinated by the development in information and communication technologies (ICTs), the passion rooting back to 1984, when she got her first PC. Her biggest interest in ICTs is their application to business and practice, and the ICT-inflicted organizational changes. Anna’s interest in the ICT-driven organization development interventions was also fuelled by her past work with development consultancy projects. Examples include the EU-funded project “eKarelia: assistance to local business support structures in providing sustainable ICT-related accessibility, training and business development for enterprises”. The objective of the project was to foster economic growth and competitiveness in the Republic of Karelia, the Russian Federation, through the development of accessibility of ICTs to enterprises, and the support to increased use of the advanced information technology. Also, at her previous workplace, Anna was delegated the task of developing and managing the company Intranet. The Intranet project required good understanding and command of the applied technology, i.e. Lotus Domino, as well as in-depth understanding of the company’s core activities, i.e. consultancy and project management.
Anna has presented and published a number of conference papers and articles on the subjects of virtual organising, electronic human resource management (e-HRM) and e-recruitment, organizational design and institutional theory. Currently, Anna is engaged in academic research on virtual organizing of business activities and business model innovation. She is currently working together with Professor John Parm Ulhøi on the part of the DUL-project that is concerned with innovation management and barriers towards business model adaptations, i.e. research on the commercial aspects of new ICTs and new market and/or social developments.
